After a chance meeting in the pub, Roger Morgan-Grenville and his friend Duncan decide to take up beekeeping. Their enthusiasm matched only by their ignorance, they are pitched into an arcane world of unexpected challenges and setbacks, ending two years later with more honey than anyone knows what to do with.
An uplifting and multilayered story of bee keeping, friendship, the tricky navigation into meaningful middle age and a clarion call for never taking ‘no’ for an answer. Join Roger tonight for a highly entertaining and informative romp through his adventures.
A light-hearted account of midlife, a yearning for adventure, the plight of bees, the quest for “liquid gold” and, above all, friendship.
Roger Morgan-Grenville was a soldier in the Royal Green Jackets from 1978 to 1986. After leaving the army he ran a small company developing kitchenware. In 2007, he helped to set up the charity Help for Heroes. Liquid Gold is his fourth book.
We are thrilled to offer one lucky #richlitfest attendee the chance to win TWO pots of Roger’s own Upperfold Bee Farm honey, made in his garden in West Sussex!
All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is book a ticket for ‘Liquid Gold’ on Thursday 19th November. One ticket = one entry. UK entrants only!
