Unfortunately this event has been cancelled as due to unforeseen circumstances the panellists are no longer available
Protests, power, personal politics, activism, action, change – just some of the themes that will be discussed as our panellists look back on some of London’s most significant social movements & power struggles; consider where we are as a society today and how we can, as individuals, embrace positive action & make a change.
Magid Magid is a British-Somali activist – the first Green Party Councillor and refugee to serve as the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, and the youngest ever to hold the role, and has subsequently been elected as the first Green Party Member of the European Parliament. His new book, The Art of Disruption, uses stories from his life to present a guide to hope; being courageous and thinking differently about power, in order to get on in work, life, personal politics and activism.
David Rosenberg is an educator, writer and tour guide, leading tours of key sites in London’s radical social and political history since 2007. His book Rebel Footprints: a guide to uncovering London’s radical history tries to restore the extraordinary achievements of ordinary people struggling often against the odds for better lives for their communities.
This afternoon’s inspirational event will be chaired by Hamed Amiri.
